We have a large selection of library books about pregnancy, birth and raising multiples - twins, triplets and more. Book Review - by Dawn Preston

Twins: A practical and emotional guide to parenting twins, by Katrina Bowman and Louise Ryan. Written by two women who have twins of their own, this book is based on theirs and other parents' experiences of pregnancy, birth and having toddlers. I fould this book a valuable resource whilst pregnant, and continue to refer to it now I have my own toddlers.

It covers chapters on pregnancy, getting organised prior to the birth, the birth itself, breast and bottle-feeding, how to survive being home alone with your new babies, sleep, pre-term babies, and even a chapter on the "twin thing". The book also has useful tips throughout. Well worth a read!

NZMBA Support Group

The New Zealand Multiple Birth Association (NZMBA) has a support group for families who have multiples with special needs. Multiple Birth Register

The New Zealand Multiple Birth Association (Inc) in conjunction with Massey University have created a register of multiple births in New Zealand i.e. a database of twins and higher order multiples living in this country. The register is used by researchers undertaking investigations that will benefit multiples or others in our community.
